AKTINA TV
produced and hosted by Elena Maroulleti and
airing on WNYE-Channel 25 in New York, is an English language
Greek-American news and culture magazine series focusing on local,
national and international news stories of particular interest to its
wide New York based audience, as well as hard news stories that
examine the national issues of Cyprus and Greece.
AKTINA TV also broadcasts on the Ocean-TV 20
in Toms River, New Jersey every Monday at 8pm and every Tuesday at
9am.
AKTINA TVs
successful original documentary series, Cyprus Its History and
Culture Through The Ages and Greek Horizons, examine in
depth the rich culture, history and heritage of Cyprus and Greece.
The series also showcase Greeces and Cyprus beautiful sites and
nature.
Other successful
series, include Issues of Interest, Round And About "Frame
Mode".
"Issues
of Interest", features interviews with distinguished high ranking
officials, politicians, scholars and other personalities from Greece,
Cyprus, the United States and the world discussing a variety of issues
of wide public interest, including topics pertaining to Greece and
Cyprus.
"Round and
About" examines the culture of the New York Greek-Cypriot and
Greek-American community. In addition, the series covers a
variety of events and stories relating to the arts and life of New
York and beyond.
"Frame Mode" features interviews and
profiles of the greatest singers, movie makers and other highly
acclaimed artists worldwide. Among the many celebrities who were
featured include the renowned Oxford Professor and author of
"Alexander the Great", Dr. Robin Lane Fox, movie star Colin Farrel,
and many famous Greek singers including George Dalaras, Mario
Frangoulis, Maria Farantouri, Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Glykeria, Vasilis
Papaconstantinou, Lavrentis Macheritsas, Yiannis Kotsiras, Michalis
Hadjiyiannis and others.
Prior and during the Athens 2004 Summer Olympic Games,
AKTINA TV hosted for two and a half consecutive years the series, "AKTINA
Celebrates the Athens 2004 Olympic Games". The series which
was concluded after the opening of the games in Athens in August,
2004, celebrated the return of the Olympic Games back to their homeland.
It included reports and news on Athens Olympic preparation progress,
as well as stories pertaining to Greek athletes.

TV broadcasts every Sunday at 6pm on New York's WNYE-Channel 25. Channel 25
is accessible through regular antenna and is also available on cable
and several major satellites serving the tri-state area of New York.

reaches 18+ million households in the tri-state area (New Jersey,
Connecticut) and beyond. It is a UHF station, also
available on cable, as well as on Direct TV and Echo Star satellites.
